funny and cute sayings

The funny and cute sayings of the weekend: Amaya saw the cat in the hat on a dvd cover at blockbuster and said"Look mama it's the kitty in the house". Also she gave me a hug and said " oh I do love you" so cute. She's into calling everyone your highness and she can retell her favorite book knuffle bunny too so well. She pretend reads it with expression and vocab from the story. She even knows diff between words and pictures. So smart!

Fun family time

I can't believe my baby is turning 3 in two months! The time is going by so fast. We had a great December together! Of course I loved being home with her for 2 weeks. Getting ready for Christmas was so fun this year now that she understood about Santa more. When we were setting up the tree she said "ooo, wonderful" Seeing her face on Xmas morning was priceless! She loved the princess kitchen and Ariel costume from Santa. so cute! :-) We went to Florida and had so much fun with PAP too! She loves the beach and squeals with delight when the waves go over her feet.
She is still in the princess stage. She likes to say, yes your highness or yes my darling :-)
and she loves to hear stories. She likes to tell stories to her dolls too, with such expression and vocabulary. She uses words like "fantastik" and "actually"!
She also loves to watch the wizard of Oz. She sings the songs too - so cute! She is into saying twinkle, twinkle little star now and the ABC songs too. and we saw Laurie Berkner in concert Sunday - she LOVED seeing Laurie on stage and when Laurie opened with her favorite song - you should have seen her eyes! so precious!
I miss her so much when I'm at work but am thankful I have a job in this economy and count the days until the weekend and next day off for more princess fun!

I can't believe it's almost 2 years

I can't believe it's been 2 years since I got my beautiful baby girl's picture and almost 2 years we have been officially a family. I still look at her every day and am amazed at the little girl she is growing into. I thank God for her every day and feel so blessed to be her mom.

We've had lots of fall fun together! We went to pumpkin farms, fall festival, nature walks.

I was sick with the flu, then bronchitis and then gallbladder surgery so I feel like I havn't been up to regular mommyhood level but I plan on making it up to her over thanksgiving break and xmas break. Hopefully we will all stay healthy!

I can't wait for her 2nd thanksgiving and xmas, now that she's older.

I love to watch her read books and make up the stories. Last night we snuck the videocamera into her bedroom while she was reading. It was SO cute! :-) how she was doing it.

and she's been potty training so well. My little baby is growing up! I'm happy and proud yet sad cuz it's going by so fast!

my supersmart summer princess

I can't believe it's September already and my baby is 2 and a half years old! We had the best time this summer. I'm back to work now and it was a hard transition. I feel like there's hardly any time with her during the week and I so look forward to the weekends! I am loving this three day holiday weekend with her! She has so much fun with my mom though while I'm at work and I know my mom takes the best care of her so that makes it somewhat easier. I still wish it could be me! :-) but am so thankful to my mom for taking good care of her!

okay so everywhere we go, people comment on they can't believe she's only 2. We were at the children's museum yesterday and she was pretend painting a house and was talking about the colors of paint she was using. This dad goes - the way she's spittin out the colors, wow, are you sure she's only 2?

and the things she says! We go to this place called Jason's deli alot - she loves it! so do I!
So we are driving by it in the strip mall going to a different store and she looked out the window
and said - "we not going to jasons?" I go - do you see the jason's sign? She says yeah, over there!
okay - my 2 year old can read environmental print.

and how she sees things in abstract ways. We were at a water park and she saw ivy on the wall and said it's kinda like a crown. when you looked at it, the shape of the ivy did look like a crown but I never would have noticed. then I bought her colored pencils in a box and she said "kinda like a piano." so creative and smart!

My favorite is when she says "I love you mommy"! She said it for the first time this summer while I was driving. then the other day I said I love you before she was going to sleep and she said I love you too! :-) last night I told her I love you at bedtime and she said thankyou! so funny!

She's into telling and hearing stories these days. Her attention span can do this for a long time! She likes us to take her favorite dolls and make up stories with them. Then she tells her own.
I just watch, smile, shake my head and my heart fills up with joy at this amazing angel God has blessed me with for my daughter! Her favorite is when I tell the story about her adoption using the dolls! :-) she wants to hear it over and over again and dora is the mommy and she is the baby.

Summertime fun!

I can't believe it is almost August already! The summer has been filled with fun times and laughter! I love having the whole summer off after 9 years at a year round school but I must say I really miss those 3 week breaks!

I am enjoying all of this quality time with my peanut before I have to go back to work in a few weeks. I swear she is a 4 year old stuck in a 2 year old's body. The vocabulary she uses, questions she asks and sense of humor make me laugh and smile every day! She continues to amaze me and fill my heart with joy!

some of my favorite sayings and memories of this summer are:

"Oh, I didn't know that!"

"because why mommy?"
When I want her to do something and I have my teacher, mom look on she says
"u mad? what you doin with the eyes?"

When she says no to bedtime I tell her, what did mommy say about being a good listener and she responds : "no pleeeasse mommy" :-)

how she read goodnight moon for the first time by herself on July 10 and called it jumping over da moon da cow :-)
and then later on vacation in michigan she was reading it to myself and Aunt Pamela and told me, don't laugh okay? because I was laughing and smiling because I thought it was so cute the last time but apparently she didn't like that!

how she squealed with delight at the beach in michigan and duxbury massachusetts!
She is such a nature princess and loves the sand and water like her mommy!
also she is quite the fashionista these days and HAS to wear a pretty dress every day!

We also signed up for her first dance class - she is VERY into ballet and loves wearing her tutu. The teacher was great! She went to observe one time and starts for real next week!

I love that she went from calling my sister pap last summer to pama, and now it's pamalee :-)

My sick peanut

I am home again today with my poor sick peanut! Yesterday we had to take her to the ER cuz she had a fever of 104 that wouldn't go down with tylenol combined with fast breathing and heart rate. She refused to take off her princess dress up costume so she wore it to the ER. The nurses loved it of course and the ER at St Alexius is great - they have a special kids ER with a child life specialist. They have thier own rooms with kids movies and books and Amaya even got a disney princess present to take home. Much better than our experience at NW community back in Feb.

Anyway, they did tests and it turns out just a viral infection - not the big S flu - thank goodness or something worse! So I stayed home to be with her today and give her cuddles and popsicles! :-)

Less than 4 weeks left of school till I am home in the summer with her! I can't wait for summer fun!

Since her birthday, we have had lots of fun together. Spring break was so fun! We went to navy pier children's museum and rainforest cafe, the field museum, the little village play place! She loves the playplace - every day she asks to go there! We also went to a kite festival in our town - that was fun! Dada had more fun than the princess at that one. We've been going to lots of parks too! We have so much fun with her - her personality is the best! and the things she say continue to amaze and crack us up. She is such a nature girl too! She smelled the lilacs and said delicious and she likes to watch ants. :-) She loves to be outside and will sit in the grass and study it! SO SWEET! Pics are coming soon!

Here are my favorite sayings since my last post:
1 - we went to see the ponies at the stables by our house. She wanted to ride Bananas but they had a horse show that day so she couldn't ride him. We went to watch them outside and she said "Ponies come here! Then she looked at me and said "pony not listening" :-)

2 - still "mugus" for music. ladybug is ladygub and cheeseburger is cheese-ga-burber. :-)

3 - She has an amazing memory. she is always making connections to things and says like ___
also she says remember? about things that happened recently and a long time ago.

4 - we are starting the potty training and in April she told me poopy - 2, 3, 4. When I changed her pullup, there were 4 little poops in there! :-)

5 - She busts into song sponaneously. Her favorite ones to sing are from NiHao Kailan. She will be talking and all of a sudden she'll say "I got it, I got it, it's really, really true! :-)

6 - Her new thing is saying "I'm sorry" when something spills or even when she is sad about something. She says I'm sorry for i'm sorry but also I'm sorry means I'm sad. Precious! :-)

7 - her vocabulary continues to amaze me. The other day she fell on the path behind our house and skinned her knee. We were sitting in the grass waiting for Dada to go get us a bandaid and a washcloth and she pointed to the path and said asphalt - ouchy. WHAT? this 2 yr old princess knows the word asphalt!

8 - We went to go watch Latham's softball game a few weeks ago and she was running around and putting arms out like the ump and saying "safe". then she would bend over and say"that's funny". such a character our princess!
